Depending on local practices, some gendarmerie units also accept similar reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Explain the facts accurately and in chronological order. It does not, in and of itself, constitute a request for prosecution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Good to Know<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the facts constitute a criminal offense (violence, theft, fraud, harassment, serious threats, assault, etc.), it is generally best to <strong>file a complaint<\/strong> rather than a handrail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In case of immediate danger, call the following number immediately: <strong>17<\/strong> or the <strong>112<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Confidence level: high.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Point to watch out for:<\/strong> Unlike filing a complaint, there is no <strong>no law or regulation requiring the police or gendarmerie to file a police report<\/strong>. Whether it is recorded depends on the practices of the relevant departments, which may vary depending on the situation.
